Xiao Luo

Hi, my name is Xiao Luo and I’m a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Geology at University at Buffalo. I got my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2019 at Southwest Jiaotong University in a southern city named Chengdu in China, and I got my PhD degree in civil engineering from Texas Tech University in 2023. During my PhD, I studied ice-ocean interaction and responses of ice sheet melting under ocean warming, and aggregating all sources of sea level rise contributions to formulate probabilistic analyses of sea level rise projections. Right now at UB, my research focus on assigning weights on ice sheet models based on comparison of simulation versus observation and similarity among the models. Besides research and studies, I like cooking, reading, watching movies and going to gym from time to time.
